The Madhurashtakam (Sanskrit: मधुराष्टकम्, madhurāṣhṭakam) is a beautiful Sanskrit composition in devotion of Lord Krishna, composed by the Hindu Bhakti philosopher-poet Sripad Vallabha Acharya. Sripad Vallabhacharya flourished under the patronage of the Vijayanagar King Sri Krishnadevarya in the late fifteenth century Andhra State and created many other literary pieces including the Vyasa Sutra Bhashya, Jaimini Sutra Bhasya, Bhagavata Tika Subodhini, Pushti Pravala Maryada and Siddhanta Rahasya in Sanskrit. The devotional hymn “Madhurashtakam” of Sri Vallabhacarya was created to lead the devotee in Pusti Marga, the Path of Grace, which involves a constant love-filled devotion to Krishna by various acts of homage, such as singing (kirtana), remembering (smarana), conceptualizing and beholding (darshana) a beatific image of the deity upon singing of the Madhurashtakam, and offering of services (seva).

These acts enable the devotee to enter into the divine presence of Sri Krishna and to experience the Lord’s real essence (svarupa) which are in fact, succinctly laid down by the Madhurashtakam. Hence, Madhurashtakam plays an instrumental role in the realization of the Lord.

Lord Venkateswara is the main diety of the Tirumala temple, Tirupathi. The lord is an incarnation of lord Vishnu. He is worshipped by the people with different names like Balaji, Srinivasa, Govinda. Venkateswara means the Lord who destroys the sins of the people. According the Hindu scriptures, Vishnu, out of love towards his devotees, incarnated as Venkateshwara and appeared for the salvation and upliftment of humanity in this Kali Yuga and is considered the supreme form of Vishnu in this age.

Suprabhatam (Sanskrit: सुप्रभातम “auspicious dawn”) is a name given to Sanskrit hymns recited in the morning to awaken the Lord. The most famous is the Lord Venkateswara Suprabhatam recited at Tirupati to awaken Venkateswara.
It was composed around 1500 by Shree Prativadi Bhayankaram Annan Swami, a disciple of Shree Manavala Mamuni, who also composed Shree Ranganatha Suprabhatam.

The Venkateswara Suprabhatam, being the morning recital of prayers and songs of awakening, is believed to have been written and sung by one of Ramanujacharya’s disciples who visited the temple with his Guru.

Hanuman (Sanskrit: हनुमत् Hanumat; nominative singular हनुमान् Hanumān), known also as ‘Anjaneya’ (son of Anjana), is one of the most popular concepts of servants of God (bhakti) (devotion to God) in Hinduism and one of the most important personalities in the Indian epic, the Ramayana. His most famous feat, as described in the Hindu epic scripture the Ramayana, was leading a monkey army to fight the demon King Ravana.

Hanuman is considered as siranjaeevi (to live eternally). He is the monkey God, strong, full of valour, with various skills and powers. At the same time, he is wise, a great gnani, yogi and a brahmaachari. He had only one thought that of serving his Lord Rama with utmost humility and devotion. He is known as Siriya Thiruvadi. He is considered to be an amsam of Lord Siva.

Hanuman Chalisa (Hindi: हनुमान चालीसा “Forty chaupais on Hanuman”), a Hindi-language poem primarily praising Lord Hanuman, is Tulsidas’s (1532-1623; Devanāgarī: तुलसीदास) most famous and read piece of literature apart from the Ramcharitamanasa.

It has gained enormous popularity among the modern-day Hindus. Many of them recite it as a prayer every week, generally on Tuesdays or Saturdays. Hanuman is a bachelor God and many bachelors are staunch devotees of Shree Hanuman.

Whoever recites Hanuman Chalisa (40 stanzas praising Hanuman), written by Shree Tulsi Das, for 40 mornings, will beget health, wealth, happiness, courage, valour and wisdom. Devotees reading this Chalisa 108 times will over
