The Holy Bible King James Version (KJV) was authorized by King James I of England in 1604. The King James Version was completed in 1611, just 85 years after the first translation of the New Testament into English appeared (Tyndale, 1526). Developed by a committee of scholars, the King James Version incorporated the then English literary standards and became the standard Bible translation for millions for several hundred years. The KJV is public domain in the United States.
